We often think of Israel as a technologically advanced and a progressive western-like democracy, and of course it is. But Israel prioritises vast amounts of it’s modest national budget to defence leaving significant gaps for many vulnerable communities that dwell closest to the most determined enemies who seek to use whatever means they have to bring harm to their Jewish (and often non Jewish) neighbours.

Through the use of crudely made rockets, incendiary devices such as balloon carried bombs or molotov cocktails, Israels enemies often create fires in the neighbouring Kibbutzim and Moshavim that can cause great harm and risk life.

That’s where a couple of Aussie firefighters have stepped in to help make a difference and offer expert training and equipment to these vulnerable at risk communities throughout Israel.
